Dr Ming Ho completed general surgical training in Newcastle and obtained the fellowship of the College of Surgeons in Australia (FRACS). He was in the UK to further his training in coloproctology in 2017 and obtained his membership of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) and the fellowship of the College of Surgeons (FRCSEd).
Dr Ho is accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the Joint Advisory Group on gastrointestinal endoscopy of the UK (JAG) to perform colonoscopy and gastroscopy.
He also provides THD® Anopress, a newer technology to manage anorectal problems, e.g. rectocele, faecal incontinent, chronic constipation, anismus, obstructed defecation, rectal prolapse, obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS). This service is currently bulk billed via Medicare.

Dr Kolitha Goonetilleke has joined our Open Access team at North Lakes Day Hospital. Kolitha also works as a VMO at Redcliffe Hospital as a General and Colorectal Surgeon.
Dr Goonetilleke graduated from medical school in 2000 before completing general and colorectal surgical training in the United Kingdom. He subsequently completed his FRCS (Gen Surg) in 2013. Dr Goonetilleke relocated to Australia in 2015 where he obtained FRACS.
Dr Goonetilleke has diverse research interests; including varied aspects of cancer of the GI tract. In 2009 he was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine for his research from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Dr Goonetilleke has been widely published. He has presented at national and international conferences and has been the recipient of a research grant.
Dr Goonetilleke is a member of GESA and offers a broad range of surgery for patients; with a commitment to personalised high quality surgical care. He is also a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain.

Dr Ong is a Western Australian trained specialist surgeon who was raised in the northern suburbs of Perth, studying Medicine at the University of Western Australia. He completed his Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2009.
Dr Ong is extensively trained and experienced in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery in Australia, Europe, and the United Kingdom.
Having worked at the Royal Free Hospital and the Harley Street Clinic in London between 2010 and 2012, Dr Ong completed his Fellowship, returning to Australia with his young family, joining the Surgical Department in Bunbury, Western Australia.
General and laparoscopic surgery services, with a particular interest in the gallbladder, thyroid and parathyroid surgery and hernia repairs in addition to endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) services are also available to clients.

Dr Newman studied medicine at UWA and graduated in 1984. He undertook his advanced training in a General Surgery at Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital and attained his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1995.
In 1996 he undertook a Rural Surgical Fellowship at Royal Darwin Hospital. He commenced practice in Bunbury in 1997. He has experience in a very broad range of General Surgery. He is particularly interested in hand surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy (Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy). His Endoscopy and Colonoscopy training is recognised by the CCRTGE.

Dr Benny is a general surgeon with an interest in laparoscopic surgery including laparoscopic hernia and bowel surgery.
Dr Benny grew up and attended medical school in Papua New Guinea graduating in 1994. He has worked as a surgical specialist in Papua New Guinea and later in Australia, obtaining FRACS in general surgery in 2010. He did a fellowship in rural surgery in Northern Territory and later in Wagga Wagga. He worked in Toowoomba Base Hospital for 3 years as a general surgeon before moving to Bunbury in 2017.
Dr Benny is a member of the RACS, GESA and GSA. Being trained in rural surgery needs he can offer a wide range of general surgery surgical services.

Dr Cover is a general surgeon trained in WA. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons with post fellowship experience in colorectal surgery. She is experienced in all aspects of general surgery including hernia and gallbladder management and upper and lower endoscopy. She has subspecialty interest in benign and malignant colorectal and anal conditions and offers laparoscopic surgical options.
Jacinta has further qualifications and interest in teaching with a Masters in Health Professional Education and is the South West Health Campus supervisor of general surgical training. She also advocates for rural surgeons with her role as WA State representative on the College of Surgeons Rural Surgical Committee.
Jacinta has worked in the South West since 2016 and lives here with her partner Michael and their four sons.

Dr Johnston became a fellow of RACS in 1993 and returned to the South West to commence practice in 1995. His area of expertise is general surgery with a special interest in bowel surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Dr Johnston chairs the SW Colorectal MDT and the Clinical Practice Morbidity and Mortality Committee SJOG Hospital Bunbury.
Dr Johnston is the Medical Director of Bunbury Day Hospital and operates at SJOG Hospital Bunbury, Bunbury Regional Hospital, Bridgetown Hospital and Warren District Hospital. He consults at 140 Spencer St Bunbury, Bridgetown Hospital and Warren District Hospital.

Dr Jamal Merei provides General Surgery services at the Warringah Medical & Dental Centre. He is a Consultant General Surgeon at North Shore Private Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at Manly Hospital.
Dr Merei graduated in 1999 from the University of Melbourne after completing his research at the Royal Children Hospital in Paediatric surgery. In 2010 he completed his Advanced General Surgery training at Royal North Shore Hospital and was awarded his fellowship by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Jamal’s practice covers all areas of general surgery, with a special interest in biliary pathology dealing with gall bladder surgeries as well as other laparoscopic procedures. He is accredited to perform gastroscopies and colonoscopies with or without banding of haemorrhoids.
Jamal’s other areas of expertise include bowel surgeries dealing with all kinds of bowel cancer as well as key hole procedures for hernia repair, which he performs in over 99% of such cases.

Dr Arul Sundaraj completed his undergraduate degree in India, before receiving his Masters in General Surgery. He completed his membership qualification in Edinburgh, before moving to Australia.
Dr Sundaraj performed his initial training at Westmead Hospital, and his advance surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
He currently occupies a public appointment as a Surgical Consultant at the Prince Charles Hospital, and holds a rural appointment with Flying Surgical Services.
Dr Sundaraj aims to provide the highest standard of care to his patients and has a special interest in teaching and research.

Dr Agrawal is a General Surgeon who has sub-specialist training in colorectal and laparoscopic surgery. He attended Medical school at Pune University in India graduating 1998 and completing a master’s degree in general surgery in 2003.
After arriving in Australia in 2005 he spent 3 years doing a Fellowship in Trauma Surgery at Royal Perth Hospital. He then decided to undertake general surgery speciality training becoming a FRACS in 2017. Last year he furthered his experience by doing a fellowship in acute surgery and colorectal surgery at Fiona Stanley Hospital. His Endoscopy and Colonoscopy training is recognised by the CCRTGE.
Dr Agrawal provides outstanding clinical care for the people of the South West region.

Tom grew up in country Victoria where he completed all of his schooling before moving to Melbourne for Medical School. Following completion of his degree and intern year he moved to Perth with his wife Sarah. He commenced surgical training in Perth that was based entirely on a long term aim of living and working in Albany.
Throughout his surgical training and career, this desire to promote regional and remote surgical practice as a pathway and career choice for others has been a major motivation. As a trainee he was an active voice within the Provincial Surgeons of Australia(PSA). He utilised the training opportunities this group opened up to tailor his skill set for regional work.
Professionally Tom is an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has held a number of positions within the organisation.

Willy has joined Albany Day Hospital and is consulting at the Great Southern Specialist Centre in Mira Mar. He has a specialist interest in Upper Gastrointestinal, and Bariatric Surgery and performs surgery in Perth’s Hollywood Private Hospital, Subiaco for overnight patients.
Willy grew up in Malaysia and moved to Perth in 2003. After finishing medical school at the University of Western Australia, He completed his internship and residency at Royal Perth Hospital. Willy was a medical student on a rural rotation the first time he moved to Albany in 2005. His positive experience in the region lead to his return to Albany for further experience and training in our region as surgical registrar. Willy completed his surgical training in WA, and then went on to spend 2 years in Sydney to pursue a fellowship in upper Gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery.
lly is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay, Hokkien and Hakka. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with my family, hiking, cycling and travelling.

Born into a medical family — his father is a neurologist and his mother is a nurse — there was only ever one calling for Dr Edward Yeboah.
Born in Ghana, West Africa, he followed in his father’s footsteps and attended medical school, ultimately winning the Best Student in Surgery prize. After his internship, he moved to the UK where he worked as a Senior House Officer, entered the Basic Surgical Training scheme in West Midlands and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Edward migrated to Australia in 2007 and worked in Darwin for four years as a registrar, gaining vast experience in several aspects of surgery. In 2012, he joined the training rotation in General Surgery, Western Australia, completing training in 2016.
Edward has also obtained a Master’s degree in surgery from the University of Edinburgh, and is a Lieutenant in the Royal Australian Navy Reserves.
Mr Ed Yeboah’s specialities are:
- Laparoscopic Hiatus hernia repair and anti-reflux surgery
- Laparoscopic Incisional hernia repair
- Hand surgery, including trauma, Dupuytren’s disease, tendon injuries

David graduated from UWA Medical School in 1998 and has been practicing and is a partner in Southern Regional Medical Group.
David consults in all aspects of rural family medicine. And his special interest area is obstetrics, including Caesarean Sections.
Dr Ward performs vasectomies and minor procedures at Albany Day Hospital.

Dr Rod Borrowdale is a Brisbane educated surgeon who has been providing specialist surgical services, including gastrointestinal endoscopies, on the Redcliffe Peninsula for over 25 years. Dr Borrowdale completed his medical qualifications, MBBS (Hons) at the University of Queensland in 1984. In 1992 he completed his advanced surgical training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and other affiliated South East Queensland hospitals.
After being admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), Dr Borrowdale travelled to the United Kingdom and in 1993 underwent two years of Post-Fellowship training at the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke. During his time, he worked with world-renowned Colorectal Surgeon Bill Heald, and esteemed Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgeon Myrddin Rees.
After returning to the Greater Brisbane area in 1995, he was appointed Director of Surgery at Redcliffe Hospital. For many years Dr Borrowdale taught RACS courses such as Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) and Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST). He continues to work as a Senior Instructor for CCrISP courses. Dr Borrowdale operates at Peninsula Private Hospital, North Lakes Day Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital. He consults at North Lakes Specialist Centre and Peninsula Specialist Centre, Kippa-Ring.
Dr Borrowdale also enjoys his role as an educator; he is regularly involved in educating trainee surgeons, junior medical staff, and medical students from the University of Queensland.

Dr McGregor completed his Medical Degree with first class honours from the University of Queensland.
He thoroughly enjoys the challenges and variety of being a General Surgeon. He has a particular interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery & bowel resection. His other main focus and interest is caring for ladies with breast cancer.

Dr Daniel Mehanna is a General Surgeon and Gastrointestinal Endoscopist with a special interest in laparoscopic, colorectal and hernia surgery.
Dr Mehanna obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales and trained in various hospitals including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.
After completion of his General Surgical Training in Australia he worked in Scotland for his fellowship year before settling in Queensland.
Dr Mehanna has a keen interest in teaching and education and the Director of Clinical Training at Caboolture Hospital, a Senior Lecturer (University of Queensland) as is member of the Academy of Surgical Educators.
He prides himself on delivering a professional yet personable service to which his patients can relate.
