Dr Mark Cornwell (Taringa, QLD)

Mark Cornwell studied Medicine at the University of Queensland and undertook Physician training at the Royal Prince Alfred and Princess Alexandra Hospitals before completing Gastroenterology training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Mark then practiced in the Northern Rivers of NSW, gaining extensive experience in general Gastroenterology in a regional setting in both public and private practice. His training in upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP and capsule endoscopy is recognised by the Conjoint Committee and he has completed Colonoscopy Recertification.

Mark is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, GE Society of Australia, European Association for the Study of the Liver and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and has regularly attended national and international scientific meetings as part of his commitment to ongoing medical education.

Mark has participated in the education and training of medical students and doctors and has completed a Colonoscopy Train the Trainers course. He is a member of ANZGITA, a volunteer-based training organisation and has twice volunteered as an endoscopy trainer in Myanmar.

Since 2019 Mark has been a Visiting Medical Officer in Gastroenterology at Ipswich Hospital. Mark will bring his interest in gastroenterology consultation and high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy to Gastroenterology Clinics Queensland.
