Associate Professor Turner completed medical training at UWA before studying at Oxford University and completing a Masters of Evidence-Based Medicine. His Ophthalmology training was undertaken in Melbourne. As Director of Lions Outback Vision, Associate Professor Turner is actively involved in the delivery of specialist outreach services to remote and Indigenous communities in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields, Midwest and Great Southern regions. As an Associate Professor at UWA, Dr Turner is actively engaged in a number of research projects at the LEI, focusing on service delivery for remote and Indigenous people. He is also a clinical lecturer for the Rural Clinical School at UWA and Notre Dame.
As Director of Outlook Vision, Dr Turner is involved in the delivery of specialist outreach services to remote and Indigenous communities in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields, Great Southern and South-West regions.
Dr Turner has joined the Albany Day Hospital team and conducts surgical lists once a month.

Dr Adam Gajdatsy completed medical training at the University of Leeds in the UK in 1991, graduating first in Leeds in 1988 with an honours degree in physiology. Adam was admitted into the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK as a Member in 1994, arriving in Australia in 1995. After Australian Medical Council accreditation that year, Adam went on to commence training in ophthalmology in Perth in 1999, being admitted into the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2002 as a Fellow. Adam then underwent post fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic surgery in Cardiff, UK and in London at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital. He returned to practice in Perth in 2005.
Adam has been in private practice at the Lions Eye Institute since 2006, working in both the Nedlands and the Murdoch Clinics, Adam has worked at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital since 2005 as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon, leading the oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital clinic at the department of ophthalmology there since that time. He has served as Head of Department as SCGH. Adam has served in several roles with the College of Ophthalmologists, including Director of Training (WA). He also served as the coordinator of ophthalmology teaching at the University of Western Australia from 2005 to 2015. Adam has served in the executive board of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons, serving as the society President recently. Currently Adam is chief investigator of the Ophthalmic Tumour registry based at Lions Eye Institute, aiming to further genetic research into rare tumours.
Adam has completed fellowships in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery at both the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and at Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, London.

Dr Madeleine Adams is an ophthalmologist specialising in cataract and lens surgery, providing custom vision corrections to best suit patients’ eyes and their lifestyle needs. Dr Adams consults and performs surgery at the Westside Private Hospital, specialising in:
• Cataract surgery with trifocal or extended vision intraocular lenses
• Cataract surgery with astigmatism correcting lenses
• Treatment of presbyopia
• Secondary multifocal Intraocular Lens to achieve near vision (for patients
who have had previous cataract surgery elsewhere)
• Implantable Collamer Lens for correction of myopia
Dr Adams also takes care of all aspects of general ophthalmology including glaucoma, pterygium surgery, lid surgeries, and injections for Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) or other retinal issues. Dr Adams completed ophthalmology training in Queensland and then undertook fellowships in Australia and overseas. She worked for the Fred Hollows Foundation as a clinical fellow in Central Australia and Nepal, and undertook a Medical Retina Fellowship at the Lions Eye Institute in Western Australia.
Dr Adams was awarded a PhD by the University of Melbourne for her research into age-related macular degeneration. Her research has been featured by the media including the Daily Mail and the Wall Street Journal. Dr Adams acts as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and contributes to educational podcasts an events as a speaker. Her practice provides regular educational updates for GPs and Optometrists through CPD sessions.

Dr Townsend has been a specialist consultant with Bunbury Day Hospital since 2014. Russell sees both insured and uninsured patients with services that include cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma surgery, squint surgery and general and emergency ophthalmic services.
Russell achieved his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery in 1997 and gained membership to FRANZCO in 2010.
Privately he operates at SJOG Bunbury and the Bunbury Day Hospital. Publicly he operates at Bunbury Hospital and the Busselton Health Campus.

Dr Reader studied medicine at Flinders University of South Australia graduating in 1985. After a number of years as a RAAF medical officer, he completed training as a commercial pilot and worked in general aviation.
Dr Reader regularly attends both local and overseas ophthalmic meetings, as well as giving regular clinical updates to Optometrists and General Practitioners.
